How to change a power window motor on a 2005 Chevy Caviler?

Before you start tearing apart the entire door, it may just be a ground problem. The window motor/mechanism is riveted to the inside panel. Many times the panel is either first painted or primed. When the mechanism is installed the only ground may through a crack in the paint.

First Place a jump wire to a good grounding surface(bare metal)maybe by the steering column. Place the other end of the wire directly on the window mechanism. Switch on the power %26amp; try the window. If this solves the problem then remove the rivets by either grinding or drilling. Clean the paint from the mating surface %26amp; install bolts to hold in place.
