1990 Lincoln Towncar?

are the power window motors and regulators on the drivers side fron and rear hard to change on a 1990 Town Car? And if anyone knows, is there any online guides on how to change them?

hey get a book, because itll have a template to show you where to drill a hole for a bolt. and yeah they are riveted. but the interior tool and look at the help rack at the local store. thats where i found the best deals on the push pins. they sometimes have multipacks for around $7 last time i bought them. it came with a ton of different styles. i bought 2 packs and also modified some of the pins to work for me.

No it's not difficult

Remove the door panel (it's just pushed on and holding with pins)

You might have to unscrew near the door handle.

Remove the paper (between the inner door)

Unclip the wires and unscrew the motor.

Repeat all steps in reverse

It should take no more than 90 mins.
Some cars are a tight area to take out and put in. Usually the motors are mounted on a bracket, and the bracket is pop riveted to the door structure. Just drill out the rivots, disconnect the electrical, and pull off the track. You can reinstall the bracket using rivots again, or you can also use small bolts and locknuts. You can go to www.autozone.com and they do have online repair manuals for most vehicles.
I have changed many electric regulators over the years. Mostly in GM vehicles, but have done Asian, German and Fords and Chrysler's...and EVERYONE I ever did was a pain in the a**.

Depending on the model, you may also need a huck gun to reinstall the new regulator.

First one I ever did took way to long to do and it took 8 stiches to sew me up.

Take it to a shop if at all possible. It maybe cheaper in the long run.

Caution: When servicing regulator assembly, regulator cable tension must not be altered. Cable tension is preset at production. Improper adjustment may result in premature regulator failure or erratic operation.
