91 Accord......Alot of problems?

1991 accord lx or ex i forgot and dont care......

obviously automatic/fuel injected

It shakes,, especially in reverse (no clue what that is)

burns oil----I just added a quart and havent driven yet so maybe thats fixed....

Transmission slips...

Paint---but thats not a big deal

Throttle---idles funky

So far im not sure of any more problems, but with my luck it most likely has them...

Rear passenger window , motor burned out (wont roll down or up at all)

Driver window---off track and needs new wheater strip..

and the battery is a dingbatt-doesn't die, but it might.

And yeah who knows what else is wrong...

obviously i know it needs an oil change,,,transmission fluid/tune up,,,,,and the throttle adjusted

Question----How much should it cost to get it FULLY checked..

and should I just buy a newer car form a dealer....(used)

(is it worth repairing)

other than the problems it runs fine............actually i didnt start it for almost 2 months and it started up perectly

With it being a 91, the shaking is likely an engine mount.

The trans. slipping is not good, if a filter and fluid change does not fix it, you are likely looking at a new trans, but by all means, drive it till it drops if thats what you want, but I would have that verified by a trans specialty shop

%26quot;funky%26quot; idle could be your IAC, my mother's 92 Accord had that problem a few months ago.

Windows are pretty obvious what you'll need to have done to fix them.

Have the trans checked at a shop, and if you can deal with the rest of the stuff, I'd leave it for now.

OH, one more thing, when you have the trans. serviced, have them put a quart of Lucas Automatic Transmission additive in it, that stuff is pretty damn awsome.

Change the oil, and spark plugs.

Then drive it till it dies.

You could get another 50,000 miles out of it.
take it to a mexican automechanic in east LA. that car is their specialty..lol i swear it is
check out kelly blue book on the net to see if the car is worth fixing. it may not be worth it
