Help with a motorised velux?

I bought a velux which i thought would be a manual operated one, turns out it was a motorised one. It has a silver motor unit on the top but it needs a control box to make it work, i phoned velux to find out more. The model is a GGL S06 307340. When i spoke to velux they said i would need to purchase a KSX 100 motor unit at a cost of 拢500 (bit of a shock). I looked on ebay and saw a KUX 100 control unit for 拢50 and the spec said it will work with all motorised velux's, so i wired it all up today and the motor on the velux made a noise and then nothing happened. I phoned velux again and they said that it wouldnt work and i needed to buy the specific control box for 拢500.

So

1) Does anyone know how i can make this control box work..i just need the window to open and close when i use the remote..simple

2) The chain on the motor control isnt connected but is impossible to pull out of the box, any help with that?

Apparently this is a special model that has fire detectors and opens in the event of smoke etc...can i change anything on the motor unit so it just opens and closes normally?

If you need more info then let me know

someone please be more helpful than velux..cheers

First of all were the amp vollage correct?? I hope you have not damaged motor by using wrong Control box? For Mechanical parts of window would the motor have suited the Spin speed?? 2: is the motor making any noise now? 1 it could be Jammed. try turning by hand twice in a forward possition once anti clockwise,(Repeat this) 2 check for a re.set button usually biro in size, 3 try to disconect power supply for 30sec. 4 smell for burning?? 5 Make sure to check motor to see if it works before fittng chain to pulley, 5 Sensers could be Fauly, other than that you can do a job in it to open it without the need for electric or Mechanical power. I would try every thing else first, any more question feel free to ask, hope this helps, best of luck.
